Variable speed gearboxes
The functional principle of the planetroll variable speed gearboxe and its position in the market of variable-speed gears
There is no other company in the field of drive technology having such an extensive technical
know-how in developing and manufacturing of variable speed gearboxes like
planetroll®.
planetroll® variable speed gearboxes are wet running transmissions, which reach their power only by using traction fluid provided with an appropriate coefficient of friction.
This elasto-hydrodynamic lubrication happening here cannot be realized by using a standard
lubricant.
The outstanding characteristics of the planetroll®
variable speed gearboxe is the result of an extraordinary system of torque transmission. The basis for this is the interaction of a perfect geometrical body, the ball, with elasto-hydrodynamic power transmission in connection with the conditions of Hertz pressing and the validity of the Hooke’s law.

A special characteristic of the plaromaster®
variable speed gearboxes is the ability to transmit highest torques
even with lowest rotational output speeds.
Many applications require to achieve the greatest possible torque from speed zero.
Particularly significant for a proper technical application is the fact that the extremely harmful and dangerous to safety "slippage" of transmission parts respectively the gear unit is completely excluded with planetroll® variable speed gearboxes including the contact pressure regulator, the so-called system MR.
Particularly applications with a continuously rising or swelling and frequently not defined torque require the
planetroll®
variable speed gearboxe as a necessary partner.
The plaromaster® variable speed gearboxes have a power range from 0.027 up to 7.5 kW with a total of
7 construction sizes. The gear reduction of the complete range of plaromaster® variable speed gearboxes is n2 = 0 up to 0.43 x n1.
